Battersea Dogs Home finds homes for lost, abandoned, and unwanted dogs and cats. In 2006, they took in over 5000 dogs and 1300 cats.
Pets are cleaned up, fed, health-checked, fitted with an electronic ID chip, given a living space, petted and exercised, and assessed and prepared for a new life in a new home.
Battersea Dogs Home has three centres: the main home at Battersea in London; Battersea at Old Windsor in Berkshire; and Battersea at Brands Hatch in Kent. Call Battersea in London, to check the opening times and exact locations.
To try to return missing pets to their owners, Battersea Dogs Home runs the Lost Dogs And Cats Line, working with the Metropolitan Police, council animal wardens, animal welfare charities, and veterinary surgeries, to create a database of pets lost or found in London.
Battersea Dogs Home is a registered charity. If you're a UK tax payer, you can Gift Aid your donation so that the tax can be reclaimed from the Inland Revenue.
Although I'd like you to help Battersea Dogs Home in any way you can, I'm not connected with it nor do I benefit from donations. But I'd love it if you told them that I suggested it.
